Ghost Towers 9-11
The Ghost Towers will again be visible in New York City beginning September 7. Every evening until September 11 the lights will become increasingly brighter. Herbert Muschamp, New York Times architecture critic said they are "beams that beckon us to look for, not at, something." Interactive design is about shared understanding. The Tribute in LIght was conceived by John Bennett, Gustavo Bonevardi, Paul Myoda, Julian LaVerdiere, and Richard Nash Gould. Paul Marantz is the lighting genius who executed the concept using 88 powerful lights to make up the two towers. The Tribute in Light first appeared in March 2002, and continues to appear every September- thanks to the effort of the Municipal Art Society of New York City with financial support from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and Con Edison.
